    As a producer/engineer and mixer, John Escobar is well known for his versatility, which he attributes to this culturally and geographically diverse upbringing.

    His work has spanned multiple genres and featured collaborations with four-time GRAMMY winning folk artist Sarah Jarosz, legendary rock band The Rolling Stones, multi-GRAMMY nominated rock band Highly Suspect, jazz guitar virtuoso Larry Coryell, hip-hop duo Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Jimmy Buffet, and classical violin virtuoso Joshua Bell. He has also worked on film projects for Walt Disney Pictures, Sony Pictures, Amazon Prime, Focus Features, NASA, and with composers like Terrence Blanchard, Alan Silvestri, Thomas Newman, Carter Burwell, Mychael Danna and others.

    His projects have been featured in US Billboard Top 10, Chinese Global Top 10, and won or have been nominated for Oscar, Golden Globe, Critics Choice, BAFTA, Goya, Platino and Telly Awards among others.

    Over the last few years, John has had a chance to spend time in the academic setting, where he enjoys sharing his real-world knowledge with up-and-coming talent in the music industry. He is currently a professor in the Music Production and Engineering department at Berklee College of Music in Boston, and in addition, has taught and guest lectured at several other prestigious academic institutions in North America, such as Boston University, University of Southern California, Northeastern University and Harvard. John is also the associate director of audio production for NPR’s From The Top national radio broadcast program.

  • Assistant

    Mar Giménez is a Spanish songwriter, producer, and engineer who works as John Escobar’s assistant at Escobar Music. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, where she earned a dual degree in Music Production and Engineering and Contemporary Writing and Production, Mar graduated Summa Cum Laude thanks to the prestigious Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation and Julio Iglesias Presidential Scholarship, which fully funded her studies.

    During her time at Berklee, she was honored with several awards, including the Robin Coxe-Yeldham Women in Audio Award and the Division Piano Award, recognizing her talent and dedication. At Escobar Music, Mar brings her expertise and passion for music to every project, helping ensure that each production reaches its full artistic and technical potential. Her unique perspective and commitment to excellence make her an integral part of the team.
